Child Safety Statement

Land & Legacy Pty Ltd is committed to child safety and has zero tolerance for child abuse of any kind. We create and maintain environments where children feel safe, respected, valued, and empowered to speak up if they have concerns.

Our child safety commitment applies to all staff, mentors, volunteers, partner farm hosts, and any other individuals who interact with children through our programs.

This statement applies to all Land & Legacy programs involving participants under 18 years of age, including school-based, home-based, and community pathways across all partner farm locations.

All mentors, facilitators, and staff who work directly with children are required to hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent clearance applicable to their state or territory, prior to commencing their role. Checks are reviewed on expiry and following any reportable conduct notification.

Partner farm hosts who supervise children are also required to hold a valid WWCC. Land & Legacy verifies compliance as part of the farm onboarding and annual review process.

All persons associated with Land & Legacy programs are expected to:

• Treat all children with dignity and respect at all times.
• Never engage in physical, emotional, sexual, or psychological abuse of any kind.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with participants.
• Ensure children are never left unsupervised in one-on-one settings without guardian awareness.
• Promptly report any concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing through appropriate channels.

Any person who has a reasonable belief that a child is at risk of harm or has experienced abuse must report this concern promptly. Mandatory reporting obligations under applicable state and territory legislation must be followed.

Internal concerns may also be raised directly with Land & Legacy's Child Safety Officer by emailing info@landandlegacy.com.au with the subject line "Child Safety Concern".

Parents and guardians are valued partners in our programs. We encourage open communication and will always notify a child's guardian of any significant incident or concern involving their child. Guardian consent is required for all participants under 18 and for any media featuring a child.

Land & Legacy conducts regular risk assessments of all program environments. Partner farms must meet safety and compliance standards before hosting young participants, including site safety reviews, animal handling protocols, and emergency contact procedures.

This Child Safety Statement is reviewed annually or following any significant incident or change in relevant legislation. The most current version is always available via the Land & Legacy website.
